I may be smiling, but I’m still in shock. I’m at the Carrell Clinic being prepped for surgery with my entourage around me, Mom, Syd and Chrissy. Yes, I’m grateful that Dr. Eugene Curry’s staff, especially Diane, got me in to see Dr. Curry who when he saw me, called me the blogger, the travel blogger. The first time I met Dr. Curry was regarding another matter on another foot and noticed his travel photos which led to us talking about our travel experiences. That’s when I gave him my travel business card. But he remembered me. And, that’s cool!

Here I am, the next morning, eating my breakfast of bacon and eggs. I tried to eat because I pretty much had nothing on my stomach from the day before but I was honestly still too drugged and just not hungry. (Nov. 18, 2017)

Look at these two, in my bathroom changing my shower head to a handheld shower head and putting a stool in my bathtub so I can sit and bath myself. (Nov. 18, 2017)

Me, home alone with my various methods of transportation behind and beside me as I sit on my reclining sofa in my living room. I am so grateful to have a home and to have a check coming in every month so I don’t have to be concerned about how I’m going to pay for this home. I may have broken my leg but I am grateful that this broken leg, however much the doctor bills, is insured through Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

That’s my scooter, which I park beside me on the sofa. In my bedroom is my walker, which I keep in there to get me to the toilet in the middle of the night.

Had visitors today, my nieces and my Mommy. That’s 4-year-old Lennon Grace Desnoyer, Katelyn and Trey’s beautiful daughter. She took one look at my Ayoka and liked her…so I gave it to her. This doll has been with me for more than 20 years but all she does is sit around collecting dust. I will miss her but whenever I want to see her, I can look at this photo of her and Lennon. The other gorgeous young woman in the photo is Hannah. Bot are my brother, Hermes’ daughters.

While Hannah, Katelyn and Lennon went shopping at the Galleria, Mom stayed with me. Once they were done, they swooped back in and picked Mom up to head back to Mansfield.

I had to say good-by to Hannah because she heads back to Memphis and to school tomorrow, while Katelyn and Lennon plan to stay until Monday. (Nov. 25, 2017)

Mom and I kicking back getting ready to watch the movie Wonder Woman. That big yellow thing is the pillow that I use to put under my right leg to keep it elevated while I’m reclining on my sofa.

Mom took a spill tonight. Like everything else, it happened so quickly and I have to say, I freaked. But luckily, she was bruised but nothing broke and I loaded her down with Advil and had her use the ice pack. That really scared the living shit out of me. (Nov. 27, 2017)

Mom taking her afternoon cat nap.I took my shower/bath today…finally. It was a morning of doing my usual things to clean myself up, like trimming the hair on my neck, cutting finger and toe nails and at least in this case, taking my time and being conscious about everything I do.

Along with bathing on Tuesday, Mom and I did the laundry and I ordered food for us to eat from Pappadeaux. I did download the UberEATS app but Pappadeaux’s uses DoorDash so I downloaded that app too. This little outing of seafood gumbo for Mom, andouille sausage and seafood combo for me along with the luncheon portion of Pasta Mardi Gras cost me a cool $50, including a tip for the driver.
