As much as I love the countries I just visited and have traveled to before, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and France…I also love exploring countries I have yet to discover. And, that’s my plan for the next month or so on Intrepid Travel’s “Oslo to Vilnius” tour.
This was actually a tour I had scheduled for 2020 but it was cancelled, like most travel that year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although travel was halted and silenced, it has come back with a roar. Many countries placed restrictions on entering their borders, but that has since changed. The U.S. has also dropped its Covid test requirement to enter the country. That does not mean the virus has exited the world stage or that countries have stopped making certain requests. It now means some countries, including the U.S., are requiring proof of vaccines and in lieu of that proof, in some cases, a recent negative Covid test. I have both vaccines and just got my second booster shot a week ago. Although I have yet to test positive for Covid, my concern is not about testing positive, it is about testing positive while I am traveling and getting so sick that I can’t take care of myself. So, I prepare as much as I can and keep on traveling.
So, what does this Oslo to Vilnius tour consist of? It includes of six Scandinavian and Baltic Northern Europe counties of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Today I leave Dallas on an overnight Finnair direct flight to Helsinki, Finland, with 50 minutes to connect to another Finnair flight to Oslo, Norway, where my tour begins.
Come and explore a little more of this fabulous world with me in countries I have not been to. See you in Norway to begin our adventure.
