Along with celebrating turning 60, I am also celebrating the freedom to travel when I want and for however long I want.
The whole notion of being able to travel on my own terms is both exciting and daunting. There’s so much I want to see and so much I want to do that I’ve actually overwhelmed myself, but my plan is to take it one step at a time, one day at a time.
After 28 years of working for the U.S. Department of Labor, I am now retired and free to travel about the world. So, my plan, in celebration of both turning 60 and retiring both in the month of March, I am embarking on a 60-day journey through 11 countries including Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia. I will be on two Rick Steves tours, one Cosmos tour and on my own from April 24 to June 22. I hope you’ll join me on this journey.
